Mehmet Cemal Genes, an Associate Professor in Civil Engineering since 2013, has a 28-year academic career starting at Mustafa Kemal University, Turkey, and has worked at private and international universities, including Eastern Mediterranean University, North Cyprus, since 2017. He chaired Mustafa Kemal University's Civil Engineering Department (2007–2009). With a Master’s in Nonlinear Analysis of Steel Frames and a Ph.D. in Soil-Structure Interaction Models from Çukurova University, he pursued advanced studies at Rice University, USA, in Computational Fluid Dynamics. He has led international projects on soil-structure interaction and structural performance in collaboration with universities in Germany and Turkey.

Carlos Mendez, born in Mexico in 1981, received his Ph.D. and M.Eng. degrees in Earthquake and Structural Engineering from Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan. He is currently the CEO at SeismicPS, a Professor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, and Vice President of IABSE.

With over 19 years of international experience, he works as a technical consultant on seismic protection strategies for infrastructure projects worldwide. Dr. Mendez has published over 85 papers and he is the author of 7 book chapters on structural and earthquake engineering. He is active member of several international associations, including IABSE, ASCE, EERI, and JSCE.

Juan Manuel Fuentes, M.Sc., holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from BUAP (2002) and a master’s in Structural Engineering from UNAM (2005).

With over 15 years of experience in structural, geotechnical, and seismic engineering, he is Technical Director at QUASAR and has worked on Latin America's largest private seismic isolation project. A part-time professor at UNAM, he specializes in seismic response control devices, delivering lectures and courses on these topics. He is an active member of SMIS, SMIE, CICM, AISC, and IABSE, and contributes to Mexico’s First Seismic Code and the SMIE subcommittee on tall buildings.
